- State capitals worksheets
Two blank worksheets, states to capitals and capitals to states, with an answer key.

An outline map of the 50 states to label, with a labeled answer key.
- State symbols chart
Every state with its capital, bird, flower and tree, on two pages.
Using the worksheets
The capitals worksheets work in both directions: one lists the states and asks for the capitals, the other lists the capitals in alphabetical order and asks for the states, which is harder than it sounds. The answer key prints on its own page, so you can hand out the worksheets and keep the answers.
For practice before a test, the state capitals quiz gives instant feedback, and the state capitals guide explains why so many capitals are not the largest city in their state.
Questions people ask
- Are the printables free to use in class?
- Yes. You may print as many copies as you need for your students or your family.
- How do I print them?
- Open a worksheet and use the Print button, or your browser's own print command. The site's menus are left off automatically, and each sheet starts on a new page.
- Do the worksheets reflect recent changes?
- Yes. They are generated from the same checked records as the rest of the site, so they always show the current capitals and symbols.
